Nakusp Skating Club Seeks Coach

The Nakusp Skating Club is looking to hire a coach for the 2015/16 season and beyond. The club offers Pre-CanSkate, CanSkate and StarSkate programs, and is interested into looking into other areas that might grow our club and meet community demand, including CanPowerSkate and skating classes for adults. The club is located on the beautiful Arrow Lakes in the West Kootenay, BC. Learn more about our club at www.nakuspfigureskatingclub.com.

We focus on fitness and achievement in a fun and friendly atmosphere while keeping skating affordable for everyone. We generally have between 25 and 30 skaters, although this number has run as high as 50 in the past. In 2014/15, we weren't able to run our club as we had no coach, and hope to remedy this situation for 2015/16.

The skating season runs from early September to mid-March. We require a coach for 10-15 hours a week, with possibilities for more. Candidates should be at least NCCP certified (Level 2) and be currently registered with Skate Canada. The club is willing to consider subsidizing accommodation.
